When the aftercare instructions are followed correctly, this is the average healing process.
It takes 6months to 2 years for a piercing to fully heal. Everyone heals differently, some heal faster than others. I strongly suggest you wait at least
6 months before changing the jewelry.
For the first 3-6 weeks after you get your new piercing done, rinsing your mouth with sea salt and water after you eat, drink anything besides water, or smoke is extremely important. It’s easiest to prepare a water bottle filled with 1/4 teaspoon of salt to 1 cup of water proportions to take with you all day.
Avoid Bad Habits [Oral Piercings]
When your mouth is healing after a piercing, you might notice a yellow film forming on your tongue or a white spot around the actual piercing area. These are normal, so avoiding picking at them or scraping the area with a toothbrush.
You also want to avoid starting bad habits like clicking your jewelry on your teeth or playing with your piercing. This can lead to injury of the pierced area, and over time it can damage your teeth. If you catch yourself doing it, make a point to actively stop.
You first want to read them signs! Its hard not to, but do your best to keep your fingers off it! You also don't want to soak it in water, so no swimming, bath tubs, or anything involving a lot of exposure to water.
Piercing Aftercare:
How to take care of that new Tattoo!
After you get home from the tattoo shop you should wash your hands then with your clean fingers wash your tattoo with Antibacterial soap, using only your fingertips. With a circular motion, gently rub off any surfaced blood and plasma(clear liquid on tattoo). After cleaning the tattoo make sure to rinse all the soap off with water. Pat it dry with a soft paper towel, let it air dry for 5-10min then apply a thin layer of Hustlebutter to your tattoo. Reapply the Hustlebutter 4 to 5 times throughout the day, it will keep it moisturized and protected from the elements. Wash the tattoo at least once a day! Repeat this vigorously for 2 weeks or until the tattoo is no longer dry and flakey.
